5 Tasks on your Spring Home Checklist
Spring is coming and you know what that means – warmer weather, relaxing outdoors, and sunshine. The change in seasons is also the perfect time to tidy up your home after a long, dreary Winter. If this leaves you feeling overwhelmed, don’t worry. We broke down the 5 main tasks to keep your home looking its best all Spring. You can thank us later!
1. Power Wash Siding and Patios
Hook up the water hose and power wash any siding, brick, walkways, or patios you may have. This is a quick and easy way to clean off any residue left behind by ice melt or dirt. When finished, you have the perfect backdrop for your favorite patio furniture.
2. Tidy Up Flower Beds
Clean the debris out of flower beds and trim any neglected plants or shrubs. If your flower beds still look drab, it’s time to mulch! Add a few bags of your favorite mulch and be amazed at how beautiful your flower beds look. Spring is also the perfect time to plant most new flowers!
3. Clean Out Gutters
Rain gutters can easily become clogged with leaves, twigs, dirt, and even living plants. April showers bring May flowers, so expect lots of rain during the Spring. Be prepared by getting out the ladder and digging debris out of your gutters to help prevent flooding. Now is also a great time to install gutter guards that will keep debris out.
4. Repair Window Screens
Tears or holes in your screen doors and windows mean easy entry for bugs into your home. Inspect window screens and remove any that need repairing. You can replace the screens yourself, or bring them to Bomberger’s for repair.
5. Change the Furnace Air Filter
Furnace air filters should be changed every three months, depending on the type of filter being used. Here’s your reminder to check when your air filter was last changed!
